Ashley Homestore opens 1,000th location in Millsboro, gives back to community

Millsboro, De. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — Ashley Homestore has opened it’s 1,000th worldwide location in Millsboro, Delaware, owned and operated by the Barnes family.

The location is the Barnes’ third in Sussex County, and as a form of gratitude to the community, they will be giving back charitable donations to local businesses and organizations. At a ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon, Vice President of Operations Justin Barnes said “we’re pledging a percentage of every sale written from now through the duration of our grand opening, customers will be able to come in and partner with us by determining which cause they would like to contribute to.”  At opening, the store offered 1,000 dollar checks to four local organizations: the Millsboro Fire Company, East Millsboro Elementary, the Millsboro Police Department and American Legion Post 28. Store patrons will be able to select which organization they would like to contribute to.

Local dignitaries were on hand for the ribbon cutting event, including Bill Pfaff, the Director of Economic Development for Sussex County. Pfaff spoke of the economic model set forth by the town of Millsboro “I think it would be great if every town in Sussex County would look at Millsboro as the example to draw business into the community.”

Ashley Homestore’s national executives will fly into Georgetown on a private jet for Saturday’s Grand Opening Celebration.
