Blood Bank of Delmarva Seeks Plasma Donations from Recovered COVID-19 Patients

The Blood Bank of Delmarva is asking recovered COVID-19 patients to donate convalescent blood plasma.

The plasma has been used to help treat patients suffering from the virus.

The Blood Bank of Delmarva is currently sending donations to the hardest hit states including Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri and California.

“Now is an extremely critical time to donate plasma because cases are surging throughout the U.S. at alarming rates. In our experience, convalescent plasma is a life saver and no person in need, anywhere should go without it. says Christopher D. Hillyer, M.D., President and CEO of the Blood Bank of Delmarva.

Officials ask any Delmarva residents who tested positive for the virus and haven’t had symptoms for 14 days to sign up at delmarvablood.org/coronavirus
