The Dorchester County Health Department has confirmed the county’s first case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Officials confirm a male in his 50’s tested positive and is being isolated at home. The Health Department is investigating anyone he may have had contact with.
Dorchester County’s Deputy Health Officer Dr. Casey Scott said “Whether our case count is 1 or 10, our guidance remains the same: The best way to protect yourselves and your families is to practice social distancing.”
Dorchester County was one of only two counties in Maryland that had no positive cases.
