Delaware Schools to Remain Closed Through May 15

Delaware Governor John Carney has ordered all schools in the state to remain closed through Friday, May 15.

The Governor’s announcement comes following “significant discussion with superintendents and charter school leaders.”

Governor Carney intends to formally recommend that non school district or charter school extend their school calendar beyond the end of June. The Governor also submitted a waiver to the U.S. Department of Education to request that Delaware be exempt from state testing this year to focus on student instruction.
