Millsboro Men Arrested on Drug, Weapons Charges

Delaware State Police have arrested two Millsboro men in connection with drug distribution across Sussex County.

On Thursday, May 21, the Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit executed a search warrant at both of the suspects residences. At the two residences, Troopers found over 20,000 bags of heroin, several weapons including a handgun and a crossbow and over $16,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

54-year-old Darrin L. Sheppard was charged with two counts of firearm possession during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver a tier 3 controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, possession of a deadly weapon by a person who also possesses a controlled substance and second degree conspiracy. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,000 cash only bond.

49-year-old Bryan Broughton was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver a tier 3 controlled substance, possession of a firearm/destruction weapon if previously convicted of a violent felony, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited prior violent crime or felony, second degree conspiracy and possession of marijuana. Broughton was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $77,100 cash only bond.
