Nearly Month Long Overnight Lane Closures on Rehoboth Drawbridge

Rehoboth Beach, De. (DELMARVA NEWS NOW) — Delaware Department of Transportation officials say there will be weeks worth of nighttime lane closures on the Rehoboth Drawbridge.

The work will take place on the Drawbridge over the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal on Route 1/Rehoboth Avenue between Canal Street and Atlantic Avenue. From August 26 through September 19, there will be closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting.

DelDOT crews will be working to sandblast and paint the underside of the drawbridge. Officials say you should expect noise during that work. Flaggers will be on hand assisting motorists. There will also be sidewalk replacement underway, forcing pedestrians and cyclists to use the other sidewalk.
