Salisbury Regional Airport Receives $18M in Federal CARES Act Funding

Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver has announced the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico County Regional Airport has received $18,120,304 from the federal CARES Act.

The funding is expected to help maintain airport operations. The funds are available for four years and are primarily to be used to offset declines in revenue as a result of diminished operations and activities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

County Executive Culver says passenger counts at the airport have fallen significantly due to the virus.

The acceptance of the grant means Wicomico County must agree to the terms and conditions set forth by the federal government and spend the money within the parameters of the CARES Act.
