Virginia to Require Face Coverings in Public Starting Friday

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has announced face coverings in public beginning on Friday.

In a Tuesday afternoon press conference, the Governor announced face coverings would be required in public spaces including restaurants, government buildings, on public transportation or anywhere indoors where people gather.

Governor Northam said “I am taking this step because science increasingly shows us that the virus spreads less easily when everyone is wearing face coverings.”

The face coverings will be required for everyone except those below the age of 10 and those with respiratory issues.
