After Decades in Law Enforcement, Ocean Pines Police Chief David Massey Announces Retirement

Ocean Pines Police Chief David Massey announced on Tuesday his plans to retire after 46 years serving the local community.

Massey formerly served with the Ocean City Police Department including as its Police Chief before joining the Ocean Pines Police Department in 2003.

“This is real community policing and it’s a great community – people wave at you and are very pro-police.” Chief Massey said.

“I’ve spent 46 years where I’ve worked every Fourth of July and every summer.” Chief Massey said. He says he is looking forward to traveling and having time off with his family.

The Department has announced Lt. Leo Ehrisman will succeed Massey as Chief of Police. Lt. Ehrisman has more than three decades of law enforcement experience.
